The regional programme encompasses four regions across the U10-15 age groups; these are Cricket Wales North (CWN), Cricket Wales South (CWS), Cricket Wales East (CWE) and Cricket Wales West (CWW).
The main aim of regional cricket is to provide a challenging, enjoyable yet supportive environment for the most talented boys and girls across Wales. It is, and should be seen as an immediate 'step up' from club cricket and the tier of the pathway directly below County Age Group (CAG) cricket.
We know that players develop at different rates and stages which is why many teams across the regions operate two teams at the same age group, enabling more players to play at the most appropriate level for their current standard.

“The programme aims to give every young cricketer the very best opportunity to reach their potential. Cricket Wales, and I personally would like to place on record our sincere gratitude to all of the regions who have worked tirelessly to ensure this strand of the pathway remains a key one moving forward. We look forward to building a strong foundation for our cricketers across Wales and continue to enhance our relationships with clubs and Glamorgan County Cricket Club who link in to the pathway either side of us.” (Matt Thompson, Cricket Wales Head of Talent Pathway)
"We at Glamorgan Cricket are fully committed to continue to produce a high quality home grown young cricketers. Our relationship with Cricket Wales is crucial to being able to achieve those aims and the regional programme across Wales will further enhance our performance pathways. We look forward to working with all four regions in our quest to find and develop the next, and future generations of Welsh cricket talent." (Richard Almond, Glamorgan CCC Head of Talent Development)
