Cricket Wales are pleased confirm a two-year extension to their existing partnership with Fortune 500 energy corporation Valero, which will see the American based company appear remain as the principal shirt sponsors for the Wales National County side and the West based regional programme for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The original agreement began in 2021 and will be into its fourth year by the end of 2025.
Valero – whose company HQ is based out San Antonio in Texas – is well known across the South West of Wales after acquiring the Pembroke Refinery in 2011 and it remains one of the largest refineries in Western Europe, contributing an approximate £75.6 million a year to the Welsh economy alone. In the renewable fuels business, they continually demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting the environment with industry-leading safety records and sustained efforts to reduce emissions.
The Cricket Wales West region represents part of the junior pathway within Welsh cricket comprising of both Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire areas. The region continues to provide a development platform for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15, facilitating players to optimise their potential. The region has seen an exponential growth across the girls game with U11, U13 and U15 teams now established.
CAPTION: CWW has seen a big rise in girls cricket over the last few seasons, with three teams now competing at various age groups.
Wales National County stands proudly at the top of the recreational game in Wales, representing the highest standard of cricket outside the professional ranks of Glamorgan CCC. The team continue to challenges across all formats in National Counties cricket, and have proved to be a useful development tool for players progressing into professional cricket in recent years especially.
