Llandaff CC Ladies Smashing Boundaries this #WomensCricketMonth

|

During this #WomensCricketMonth we are showcasing some of the activities and stories in women's and girls' cricket that are now becoming part of the fabric of cricket in Wales. One such success story is Llandaff Cricket Club, whose enthusiastic ladies’ softball section has really taken off.

Led by Ayesha Rauf, ladies' softball cricket has developed into a flourishing part of the cricket club.

“We were started by one of coaches, Aliya, who really got us going and now at times we have up to twenty ladies taking part in a practice session. It has really had a big impact on some of the ladies; For example one said to me recently that she would be lost without the cricket when the season was over!”

Llandaff CC have been running midweek friendlies, adjusting team sizes to suit numbers with other clubs to build up confidence of the ladies so that they can enter some of the organised festivals.

Enjoy the film of the ladies taking part in one of their most recent festivals, which will be featured as part of the Glamorgan Cricket Club of the Day spotlight initiative.
