Cricket Wales are always on the lookout for dedicated, aspirational and inspriational coaches to get involved in pathway coaching within the regional programme, to help develop the next generation of cricketers. REGIONAL COACHING OPPORTUNITIES
Regional coaches are responsible for developing boys and girls (U10-U15) to a high standard during their winter and summer programmes. A coach’s role is a crucial one in ensuring that players have a positive experience of playing within their region.
JOB DESCRIPTION (supported by regional pathway lead):
- Coach a regular 2hr slot (or more if desired and available) across the 14 week winter programme (November – March)
- Assist with the selecting of squads and teams for summer fixtures, liaising with the Team Manager
- Attend coach CPD events.
- Provide regular and ongoing feedback to players
- Where required, lead or assist a regional team in the summer (approximately 7-11 games)
- Responsible for the appearance of your players.
- Responsible for equipment including first aid kit.
- Responsible for warm up’s & pre-match preparations.
- Brief team on the aims of the game and any objectives
- Ongoing communications with players before, during and after the game Assign roles to the team members *Coaching could be across a number of locations dependent on need – to be agreed.
RENUMERATION:
£14.51 per hour (L2/Core Coach) + 25p travel expenses
£16.81 per hour (L3/Advanced Coach) + 25p travel expenses
£120 day rate for match day coaching + 25p travel expenses
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHECKS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of a Level 2 (Core) qualified cricket coach.
- ECB DBS (formally CRB) clearance certificate.
- A valid First Aid certificate (completed within three years).
- A valid ECB e-learning Safeguarding module certificate (completed within three years).
