CASUAL COACHING OPPORTUNITIES: GROWING THE GAME

Cricket Wales is constantly seeking dedicated, aspirational, and inspirational coaches to participate in our community programs, including Street Cricket, Wicketz, Primary/Secondary Schools Festivals, and community events.  Our aim is to inspire the next generation of cricketers. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The role involves cricket coaching and through your coaching sessions you will be helping to grow, support and widen all forms of Cricket being played.  You will support the delivery of Chance to Shine, Lord Taverners, Wicketz, and ECB targeted programmes in schools and clubs resulting in the creation of new All Stars Cricket & Dynamos Cricket, junior age group and women and Girls participants of all abilities. 
  • A key requirement of the role is having a can do, pro-active enthusiastic nature, the outcome being to inspire participants to want to take up the game and play more. 
  • The key age group that our programmes target ranges from 5 to 16yrs olds, boys and girls. However, there may be occasion where coaching is required in the senior age groups e.g. a Women's taster session etc. 
  • Experience of running and coaching sessions at the target age group is essential.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring any session you deliver is planned ,inclusive and meets the needs of relevant participants.
  • All sessions will be carried out in a safe manner ensuring all risk assessments are adhered to. 
  • The majority of  the sessions will be softball, using plastic bats and wickets etc. However, on occasion you may be required to get involved in a hard ball session where applicable (junior club sessions or transition to hard ball sessions).
  • You will be expected to work with other coaches as required and follow wider plans for the session and or event (e.g. School festivals). 
  • You will be expected to work with and alongside our other stakeholders and partners.

 

 RENUMERATION:

  • Foundation or Level 1 rate £11.44 plus holiday contribution uplift gross rate will be £12.82
  • Core Coach or Level 2 rate £13.00 - as above gross will be £14.57
  • Advanced or Performance or Level 3 rate £15 - as above gross will be £16.81

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHECKS REQUIRED:

  • Level 2 (Core) qualified cricket coach.
  • Foundation 1 (level 1)
  • ECB trained activator
  • ECB DBS (formally CRB) clearance certificate.
  • A valid First Aid certificate (completed within three years).
  • A valid ECB e-learning Safeguarding module certificate (completed within three years).

 

WHAT YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT:

This is a brilliant opportunity to coach as part of a growing & diversifying National Governing Body who run several funded programmes. You will get to work with a range of coaches and delivery partners as we aim to inspire more people to take up cricket.
