Participants will learn core skills like catching and throwing, hitting a moving ball, bowling with a straight arm, playing a basic game of cricket, working as a team and making friends.

The programme is set up across Wales, and includes a personalised T-shirt, bag, bat and ball as part of the registration (as at 2025).

Parents are also invited to play alongside their children, making it a fun hour each week for the family.

This scheme is an ideal first step into cricket – especially for younger children who are new to the sport and want to enjoy active, social, skill-based play in a safe environment.

Delivered in partnership with schools, it brings qualified coaches into the classroom and playground, and uses cricket as a platform not just for physical activity but for building key life-skills such as communication, leadership, respect and perseverance.

It places a strong emphasis on inclusivity-particularly making sure that girls and under-represented groups are encouraged to play alongside boys, and that schools in areas of higher socio-economic need are reached.

As part of the offer there’s also an extensive online resource portal where teachers (and anyone interested) can access lesson plans, instructional videos and session ideas – whether for indoors, outdoors, at home or at school-so the cricket and life-skills moments continue beyond the coach visit.

Aimed at young people who might not otherwise get to a traditional cricket club, it uses soft balls, simple rules and small-sided games to keep things fun, active and welcoming for all abilities. Everything is provided – equipment, coaching and a safe environment – so participants can just turn up, play with friends and build confidence. It’s a brilliant way to get moving, make new connections and discover that cricket can belong on your doorstep, not just on a village green.

Building on community and Super 9s experience, it offers structured training, dedicated coaching and competitive fixtures against strong opposition. The emphasis is on helping each player reach their potential – developing skills, game awareness and confidence in a supportive squad environment. It shows clearly that performance cricket is for everyone, providing an opportunity to represent Wales, be part of a tight-knit team and inspire others to see what’s possible in the game.
