Following the recent recruitment and interview process Cricket Wales are pleased to announce Joe Lambe as the new Community Coach in the North Wales Team. Joe will cover Conwy & surrounding areas initially to deliver the Chance to Shine Programme.

Joe joins the team with a huge passion for junior cricket development having volunteered at Llandudno Cricket Club for over 30 years where he has carried out several voluntary roles and he is currently the junior coordinator as well as a key driver behind the girls’ & women’s section at the club.

Joe also has experience of working on the North Wales MCC hubs for both girls’ & boys and has a passion for coaching & junior cricket across North Wales. Away from Cricket Joe has a professional local authority background and more recently has worked with North Wales Housing Association.

On his recent appointment Joe said “coaching children cricket has always been something I have loved to do so this role is a dream job for me. I am a great believer in helping children to learn life skills through cricket also and believe there is potential in every child we work with. I’m really looking forward to starting in this role and visiting schools and meeting you all soon.”

Area Manager Sue Wells welcomed Joe to the role & commented “Joe is a brilliant addition to the team and brings a wealth of experience of working with children aged 5-11 as well as offering a great understanding of club junior cricket. We are delighted to have him as part of the team.”

Bio:

Joe is the Community Coach for the Conwy area having been appointed in early 2022. He delivers the Chance to Shine programme across the area as part of the North Wales team.

Joe has played cricket since the age of 12 at his club Llandudno CC and has had various voluntary roles within the club including secretary; chair; captain; groundskeeper & more recently junior coordinator.

He has coached for over 30 years and has been heavily involved in junior cricket in the old Eryri region and across North Wales. In 2021 he successfully set up the first girls’ Dynamos Cricket Programme in North Wales at Llandudno CC.
