St Fagans - U13s Junior Welsh Cup Winners

This year's Under 13 Junior Welsh Cup saw St Fagans lift the trophy for the 2nd year running at Ynystawe Cricket Club. They performed extremely well in both their Semi Final against Bronwydd and in the Final against Penarth.

St Fagans posted 173-6 in their 109 run win against Bronwydd who were bowled out for 64. Rhys Pollitt (32) , Adam Sherwood (30) , Jacob Blades (31) and Ffredi Easterby 29 all contributing with the bat. 6 of the St Fagans bowlers all chipped in with wickets - but it was Jack Davies with 3 overs 4 wickets for 2 runs who was the pick of the bowlers.

The 2nd semi final saw Penarth winning the toss and electing to bat. Mold bowled well restricting Penarth to 117 all out. Josh Greyling (29) and Rhys Muxworthy (23) contributing with the bat. Gethin Griffiths of Mold taking 4 wickets for 8 runs. Mold in reply got off to a terrible start - penarth taking 3 very early wickets. Owen Hughes (24) tried his best to get Mold into a winning position but eventually they were bowled out for 58. Rhys Muxworth (3-8) and James Llewelyn (3-6) the pick of the bowlers.

St Fagans batted first again in the final - posting 139-3. Rhys Pollitt (30), Ffredi Easterby (30) and Jack Griffiths (29) all contributing again. Penarth got off to a decent start witrh a 45 run opening partnership - Josh Greyling again with (33) , Michael RameshKumar (23) and Evan Weeks (29) all contributing with the bat. It was Adam Sherwood of St Fagans who stole the show with a magnificent 4 wickets in 4 balls to see St Fagans home by 19 runs.

Congratulations to St Fagans - who go on to represent Wales in the ECB T20 Cup against Cirencester next Sunday.
