Helping Clubs take advantage of Cricket becoming more Diverse

|

Following on from the five Boundary Workshops in March/April, Mark Frost (acting CEO) talks about the opportunities and needs of clubs to get ready and better prepared as the game marches on to become the most inclusive team sport.

Some of the key points are:

  • The Independent Commission on Equality in Cricket – tells us that we’ve still got some way to go to make sure every club is welcoming for people, whatever their gender, race or socio-economic background.
  • There are likely to be times in the future when on or off the field a club needs to deal with a discrimination issue especially for the times we don’t get it right.
  • The Introducing the Boundary sessions, run by the ECB, talked about the importance of three important polices to adopt i.e.

The main ask is at your next AGM to adopt these policies so that your club is better equipped for the future.
