Cricket Wales' Further Commitment to Women’s and Girls’ Cricket

Cricket Wales is pleased to announce that it is increasing its commitment into driving towards making cricket a gender-balanced sport in Wales. The three-part time regional development posts have been made full time from 1st March so this is how the team looks: -
Rachel Warrenger North Wales
Swyddog Datblygu Criced Fenywod a Merched (Gogledd Cymru)
Rachel is promoted from a community coach working on Chance to Shine schools’ activity to this new role. “I’m really happy to have the role of Women and Girls’ Development Officer and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a really exciting time for women and girls’ cricket and I’m looking forward to being part of it. Women’s cricket has grown well in North Wales in recent years and we’re going to be running a ladies’ softball league for the first time in the summer of 2021. Going forward I'm hoping to see a lot more opportunities for junior girls in the area as well as more clubs offering softball and hardball cricket for women.”

“I am delighted to be increasing my hours to a full-time role as Women’s and Girls’ Development Officer for SE Wales. I am looking forward to working with more Clubs and Schools in our targeted areas to grow the women’s and girls’ game. Our sport has a great opportunity to grow and I am excited to be part of this.”

Carl Holding South West Wales
Swyddog Datblygu Criced Fenywod a Merched (De Orllewin)
Carl joins us having worked in retail for the past 17 years. He (also) has over 15 years of cricket coaching experience, mostly gained through his time at Dafen Cricket Club and most recently Carmarthen Wanderers Cricket Club where he has a significant involvement within the Club's structure. A keen cricketer himself, Carl is currently undergoing his Level 3 Coaching certificate. Carl coaches the girls’ cricket at his local club in Carmarthen and is keen to help and support clubs across Wales.
