Cricket Wales and UES Announce Strategic Partnership to Support Club Development and Celebrate Grassroots Volunteers
Cricket Wales is proud to announce a new partnership with UES (Unitary Engineering Services Ltd), leading sustainability and commercial building services specialists. This exciting collaboration sees UES become Cricket Wales’ exclusive affiliate building partner and recommended provider for club facility development projects across the country.
Rooted in shared values and a strong commitment to community, the partnership reflects the spirit of Cricket Wales’ new strategy, Criced: A Sport For All and core values: Together, Lead, Care. With a proven track record of delivering future-ready, sustainable solutions, UES will play a key role in helping Welsh cricket clubs grow and thrive.
Cricket Wales CEO, Barry Cawte, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership:
“This is a fantastic partnership that will see all our clubs in Wales benefit from UES’s expert knowledge in sustainable development. It’s about more than improving facilities it’s about supporting clubs to thrive both financially and environmentally.
UES share many of our values. They are authentic, committed, and genuinely care about the long-term success of the communities they work with. They’re leaders in their field, and we’re confident that any club looking to develop will be in safe, expert hands.”
UES has long recognised the power of sport to drive community cohesion and positive change. Their work with grassroots sports clubs, implementing technologies such as solar PV, LED lighting, and rainwater harvesting, helps reduce costs, lower emissions, and improve accessibility.
In addition to their work with club facilities, UES will also become the first official sponsor of the Cricket Wales, Cricket Collective Awards, taking place next month. This flagship event celebrates the volunteers who are the heartbeat of cricket in Wales, recognising their dedication and highlighting outstanding community initiatives.
Mark Frost, Head of Partnerships at Cricket Wales, said:
“Cricket volunteers in Wales are the bread and butter of our beloved sport. Without them, cricket simply wouldn’t happen. These awards are our opportunity to thank and celebrate them, and UES’s support will allow us to give these individuals the recognition they truly deserve.
This partnership is not only a huge positive for our volunteers, but also for cricket clubs across Wales, providing expert guidance, sustainable solutions, and a shared commitment to helping our game grow stronger at every level.”
For UES, this partnership is a natural extension of their broader commitment to community-driven sustainability. Their support of charities like Sporting Family Change, which empowers young people and families through sport, mentoring, and positive engagement, underscores their belief in sport as a force for good. This summer, UES hosted their second annual charity golf day, raising vital funds to ensure more young people benefit from the transformative power of sport.
While UES works extensively across transport, education, and manufacturing sectors, sport has always been a priority. They’ve seen firsthand how upgrading facilities not only improves infrastructure but also brings people together, inspires the next generation, and strengthens community bonds.
Through years of collaboration with clubs, UES has developed specialist knowledge in unlocking funding, identifying impactful upgrades, and delivering projects efficiently, ensuring clubs can make meaningful progress that benefits the widest possible audience.
By partnering with Cricket Wales, UES aims to expand its community impact, helping clubs access the expertise and sustainable solutions they need to succeed. The shared goal is to create welcoming, future-ready facilities that inspire participation at every level and ensure cricket continues to play a positive role in Welsh communities for generations to come.
Together, this partnership with Cricket Wales and UES will not only build better facilities, but build a stronger, more sustainable future for cricket and the communities it serves.
