Cricket Wales is thrilled to announce successful applicants after the launch of the ECB County Grant Fund 2025 earlier in the year, which has once again generated an overwhelming response from clubs across the region. This year, 42 applications were submitted, totalling more than £400,000 in requested funding, showcasing the vibrant cricketing community in Wales.
An independent panel was convened to review the applications, a task that proved to be a challenging yet rewarding endeavour. After careful consideration, the panel progressed to the second stage of the application process, reviewing the full applications submitted by clubs eager to enhance their facilities and programmes.
We are excited to announce the successful clubs that will receive funding from the £180,000 budget distributed throughout Wales:
• Menai Bridge
• Llechryd
• Abergavenny
• Newtown
• St Asaph
• Clydach
• Dafaen Welfare
• Radyr
• Pembroke
• Ebbw Vale
• Felinfoel
• Porthcawl
• Newport
• Skewen
• Corwen
• Buckley
These clubs represent a diverse range of communities, and we are confident that the projects supported by this grant will significantly impact local members and promote the growth of cricket in their areas.
The projects will vary across key themes, including creating new welcoming environments, enhancing playing facilities, and tackling climate change. Clubs not only improve their infrastructure but also foster inclusivity and sustainability within the sport.
As we look forward to the next 12 months, we are eager to see how these initiatives unfold and contribute to the development of cricket in Wales. Thank you to all the clubs that participated and to those involved in the application process. Together, we are building a brighter, more sustainable future for cricket in our communities.
