The ECB has recognised that there is a need to support club and leagues' officials with their handling of complaints related to matters of discrimination. To help all clubs and leagues, Cricket Wales have arranged for the ECB to deliver a training session , The Boundary Programme, locally in March 2024.
The Boundary programme is a 5-tier modular programme which is designed to equip those within recreational cricket with the knowledge and skills to minimise the risk of discrimination, both on-field and in relevant off-field situations, and to effectively respond to those incidents that do unfortunately occur.
This first module, Introducing the Boundary, aims to assist clubs and leagues by introducing the four elements of the programme:
- The reporting processes.
- Different types of discrimination
- Legislation
- How to address discrimination and investigate
Further modules will focus on each of the above topics specifically and in more detail and aim to be delivered as we move into 2024.
The training will be face to face and will be delivered by Geoff Robinson from Buckingham Solutions and members of the ECB Anti-Discrimination Unit. The feedback from sessions held in other areas has been overwhelmingly positive.
We will be running five events like this across Wales, one in your area. Senior club officials are invited and we would like every club to attend at least one of the sessions.
This is an important area of awareness / education and critical to our game for the future as we seek to be the most inclusive team sport, can I urge you to ask for representatives from all clubs to attend when we are ready with those further details, please?
Select which training session/date you would like to attend from the list below and use this link to book your space: Link for Boundary Programme
