Wales U12s at Taunton Festival

After two early wins by the Wales U12s at the Taunton Festival, the last three matches were lost.  However, despite some disappointments, the week proved to be complete success for the Wales opening batsman A Horton, with successive scores of 32, 100, 67, 48 and 94 - a total of 341 for an average of 68.2.

Monday - v Worcestershire - won by 5 wickets.

Worcestershire 154 ao (Brown 3-26, Bailey 3-18) Wales 157-5 (Horton 32, Protheroe 33, Nicholls 43*)

Tuesday v Cornwall - won by 7 wickets

Cornwall 167-9 (50 overs) Z Zaman 4-26  Wales 168-3 (Horton 100, Nicholls 60* - a stand of 141)

Wednesday v Essex - lost by 4 wickets

Wales 174 ao (48.2) (Horton 67)  Essex 178-6

Thursday v Barbados - lost by 8 runs

Barbados 123 ao (R Mohring 3-14) Wales 115 ao (Horton 48)

Friday v Yorkshire - lost by 10 wickets

Wales 143-6 (40 overs) (Horton 94) Yorkshire 146-0
