South Wales ASDA Girls KWIK Cricket Finals
15th July 2012

Ten schools took part in the re-arrnaged Finals after the rain washed out the original day last week.
They follow in the footsteps of Cleddau Reach Primary School who previously won the South Wales ASDA Mixed Finals. Both schools now have the long trip to Grace Road, Leicester for their National Finals, the Girls in Monday 16th July and the Mixed on Tuesday 17th July.
Cricket Wales would like to thank ASDA for their sponsorship Nationally and locally. Every player who has played in a KWIK cricket Festival in Wales received a certificate and Regional qualifiers received T Shirts, the overall winners having a cup and medals. In excess of 650 schools, some 6500 boys and girls have taken part. Locally many ASDA Stores have attended the events and provided drinks, fruit and healthy eating options, much appreciated by the children.
Also thanks to the Wales Association of Cricket Umpires for providing officials and to all the Cricket clubs and Local Authorities who have supported the Festivals accross Wales. The Community Coach project, where coaches deliver cricket to Primary Schools throughout Wales has been a major factor in the popularity of this years festivals, despite the wettest summer on record Cricket reaching the young generations.
