Peter Hybart to step down as CEO of Cricket Wales

Cricket Wales CEO Peter Hybart is stepping down from his position at the end of December 2019. Peter informed the Cricket Wales Board at its meeting on 2nd September.
‘By the end of the year I will have played the lead executive role at Cricket Wales for over ten years and I believe the time is right both for the organisation and for me personally, for there to be a change in executive leadership. The new ECB strategy ‘Inspiring Generations’ and a new approach from Sport Wales, will provide great opportunities for all aspects of Welsh cricket – new leadership, drive and energy will help maximise the opportunities, and move cricket in Wales to its next level.
It has been a privilege to lead Cricket Wales and to witness at close quarters the incredible level of commitment and expertise that exists within all parts of the game from both our volunteers and professional staff. We have made considerable progress and the time is now right for my successor to maximise the opportunities that will become available in the next number of years. For my part I plan to re-charge, take stock and devote a little more time to other interests, prior to considering my next career move’
Cricket Wales Chair Rod Jones thanked Peter for his commitment to the role adding
‘Cricket Wales has made great strides during Peter’s tenure as our CEO. Our progress in governance, organisational structure and safeguarding is greatly respected across the cricket network, while our performance in the take-up of All Stars Cricket and the Women and Girls’ game ranks in the top three in England and Wales. At the elite level our Wales Women’s team has also enjoyed great success and our strong relationship with Glamorgan Cricket is evidenced by our first joint strategy on which both organisations are working. I have no doubt that much of this would not have been achieved without Peter’s calm, thoughtful and intelligent leadership. He will be greatly missed and I wish him much happiness in the years ahead.’
The recruitment process for a new Cricket Wales CEO will commence with immediate effect.
