The Last Man Stands (LMS) World Champs 2013/14 kicked off with an Opening Ceremony at Lord's on 25th August with the first game between the South African champs and the Kiwi Champs.
The day also saw the Maasai Warriors playing at Lord's for the first ever time and a Township Team flown all the way from South Africa.
The £10,000 Main Event
In the Main Event 48 teams will battle it out over 9 days of competition to see who will qualify for the finals day at Lord's and the chance to win £10,000. With teams flying in from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Dubai to join the English sides with the dream of playing at Lord's and winning the cash prize.
Happy Hitters Event
For the less intense LMS teams out there, there's the more-social Happy Hitters tournament taking place alongside the world champs. Can the South African side NBW's defend the title they won in Cape Town? The Maasai Cricket Warriors will also be looking to pick up their first LMS win, having received funding from the producers of the Warriors Film and LMS-global community to make the big trip over to England from Kenya. They are placed in Group C of the Happy Hitters.
Cup of Nations Event
Running parallel to the World Championships and Happy Hitters tournament will be the first LMS Cup of Nations. There are 11 different nationality-based sides involved in this tournament - so may the best country win! The South Africans are the hot favourites given their LMS pedigree, but the English have home advantage and thus more players to select from.
