Interim Safe Hands Training

|

Cricket Wales recognises that the delivery of face to face Safe Hands Courses for Club Welfare Officers cannot be completed at present.  We are conscious however that there are some clubs who either have a new CWO or who may need refresher training.  To that end the ECB have agreed that a temporary online process will be put into action until further notice.  This process is as follows:

All Club Welfare Officers either new to their role or due for renewal before the 31st July 2020 should complete the free, online Safeguarding Young Cricketers Course (SYC). We will arrange access for them in due course. For those that have already completed the SYC course for another role, there is no requirement to repeat the SYC Course.

To cover the additional learning required for the CWO role, the ECB are creating a webinar which will also need to be completed. The pilot is still a work in progress but we hope to have details shortly.

This alternative accreditation will be valid for 12 months by which time we hope that the standard face-to-face Safe Hands training will be available again.

Clubs in this position should speak with their League Welfare Officers who will collate details.  Once the full process is known, Cricket Wales will be in touch.
