Building on its Vision for
Sport in Wales, and the delivery of its Community Strategy, Wales’ national
sports organisation is to further invest in the development of new thinking.
Sport Wales is looking for
individuals who share a passion for the growth of sport in Wales to join the
Sport Wales Advisory Group. There are currently a number of positions
available.
The Group is responsible for
providing the Sport Wales Board with advice and options on future policy
direction. The Advisory Group will focus on identifying how to influence sports
appeal amongst the less active, in line with the Vision for Sport in Wales and
the Community Sport Strategy. In fulfilling this responsibility, the
Advisory Group will utilise its report ‘Acting Today for an Active Tomorrow’
as a key reference.
The Group will be expected to
define its own working culture, in line with Sport Wales’ move to becoming more
innovative and entrepreneurial.
Applications are actively
sought from individuals working in non-sporting sectors, whilst we also hope to
attract applications from those already working in, or involved in the sporting
sector.
The Chair and Members will be
appointed, on a voluntary basis, for a term of 2 years, with an opportunity to
extend for a further term. All will be expected to attend approximately 4
meetings per annum. All reasonable expenses will be recompensed.
