2. Key
Responsibilities
- Provide
operational leadership of the Glamorgan talent development programme
- Establish
the most effective talent selection, identification and confirmation programme
in First Class County cricket
- Prepare
and manage annual individual technical and tactical skills development
programmes for each player selected on the Glamorgan programme
- Manage
the development and implementation of sports science and medicine support
programmes for each player selected on to the Glamorgan programme including the
establishment of benchmark standards of fitness and regular screening
- Identifying
the most appropriate competition programmes for each of the players on the
development programme including the placement of players within local leagues
and UK and overseas scholarship programmes
- ·
Build
strong relationships with each player’s support group, including family and educational
establishments, in order to meet the personal and professional development requirements
of the players, and provide them with the optimal amount of time developing
their cricket skills
- Performance-manage and develop the coaches and support
staff of the Glamorgan programme in order to create a high performing unit.
- Work with the CEO / Director of Cricket and other
senior managers of Glamorgan CCC and Cricket Wales to align development programme with the community and professional game in one seamless pathway from
playground to the SWALEC Stadium
- Liaise closely with the Cardiff MCC University and
Wales Minor County in order to ensure alignment of these programmes to the Glamorgan talent pathway
- Determine the most appropriate ways in which players selected
for the Glamorgan development programme from North, West and Mid Wales are able
to best access the coaching, sports science and medicine support and facilities
of the programme without financial penalty
- Prepare and submit development programme budgets and
manage their performance throughout the year.
- Prepare
and submit bi-annual development reports for the CEO / Director of Cricket and to
satisfy the requirements of ECB and Sport Wales audits.
- Review the contractual arrangements with players on
the development programme and maintain their records in line with best practice
- Liaise
closely with the CEO / Director of Cricket, and be prepared to undertake any
other duties related to the work of these functions

Skills
Experience and Background
·
Minimum
of ECB Level 3 coaching qualification (ECB Level 4 desirable)
·
Extensive
experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams in high performance
sport
·
Demonstrable
experience of developing and implementing strategic plans
·
Experience
of budget management and financial control
