Funding to Help Make Your Club a Welcoming Environment

|

With the season just upon us, clubs about to reopen and prepare for a summer of cricket, Cricket Wales is pleased to announce the opening of the County Grants Fund.

Over the next few weeks we will be catching up with a number of clubs who were recipients of the funding in 2022 – keep an eye on our social media to see what they have been up to.

Again, the fund has a strong emphasis on creating welcoming environments and with the exponential growth we have seen within the women and girls games, all stars and dynamos – we have yet to see a better opportunity to capitalise on this. In 2022, Cricket Wales saw clubs improving toilet facilities, creating baby changing areas, refurbishment of social areas in club houses, new outdoor social spaces to name a few. What could your club do in 2023?

The County Grants Fund is an ECB-funded scheme and, as such, priority will be given to clubs actively engaged in ECB programmes - All Stars Cricket, Dynamos, Junior Cricket, Women’s and Girls’ Cricket, and / or Disability Cricket - this is clearly communicated within the 2023 guidance notes . The priority areas are:-

  • Creating Welcoming Environments
  • Providing Enhanced Facilities and Playing Opportunities for Women’s and Girls’ Cricket and / or Disability Cricket
  • Tackling Climate Change

Clubs will need to achieve compliance on the Safe Hands Management System (SHMS)

Affiliation - Clubs must be affiliated to Cricket Wales
