WELSH CLUBS BENEFIT FROM ECB ‘SMALL GRANTS’

Nine Welsh Cricket Clubs together with the North Wales Cricket Goundsmen’s Association have recently benefitted from the 2012 round of ECB ‘Small Grants’.

The ECB ‘Small Grant’ scheme succeeded the previous ‘Machinery Grant’ scheme and is aimed at providing much needed small items of capital equipment and machinery for clubs and associations. In 2012 Wales received a £20,000 budget from the ECB for this initiative, following which Cricket Wales and the ECB agreed the following priority projects:

Menai Bridge Cricket Club Electronic Scoreboard and cabling
Prestatyn Cricket Club Pitch mower
North Wales Cricket Goundsmen’s Assoc. Scarifier
Welshpool Cricket Club Pitch mower
Ammanford Cricket Club Flat sheet covers
Port Talbot Cricket Club Mobile cover tops
Panteg Cricket Club Sightscreens
Miskin Manor Cricket Club Flat sheet covers
Builth Wells Cricket Club Pitch roller
Pembroke Cricket Club Replacement roofing

Peter Hybart CEO for Cricket Wales explains the process ‘Each applicant needs to be able to match the ECB funding and must have a track record of developing cricket in their local community. Cricket Wales and the ECB are keen to spread the fund to as many new clubs and parts of Wales as possible so if your club or association has a potential project then please contact your local Cricket Development Officer in the first instance. Applications for the 2013 fund will be open from early in the new calendar year.’
