 The Team That Defeated Scotland

 

Cricket Wales took part in the first CFPD Disability Tri-Nations cricket tournament at Old Trafford and came out on top.

In the first game the Welsh team played Scotland and scored a fantastic total of 191 in 20 over’s with the pick of the batting from Martin Chadwick, Tom Shackell, and Mark Dancer. We managed to bowl Scotland out for 24 runs with some brilliant bowling from Kieran Ralls, Tyrone Williams and Martin Chadwick and fielding and catching from Tom Shackell.

The Team That Defeated England

In the second game of the afternoon we played England. We won the toss and elected to field first with some good bowling and fielding to reduced England to a total of 75-5 off 20 over’s. Pick of the bowler were Steve Dancer, Nathan Donaldson, Elliott Roberts and fielding from Cian Davies, Matthew Mitchell and Holly Walker. We went on to win by 10 wickets in 13.5 over’s, pick of the batting were Tom Carter (retired), Nathan Donaldson. It was the first time that Wales have beaten England in 5 Years.

Holly Walker was presented with the award as best player in the England game

The players have worked hard over the winter and it shows that hard work pays off.

We hope to be keeping the winning way when we take on Warwickshire in our first County Championship game at Newtown CC  on the 1st May.
