Cricket Wales notes the First Minister of Wales’
announcement of Tuesday 22nd September, regarding the extra steps to
be introduced in our country to limit the spread of Coronavirus.
Details of Mr Drakeford’s statement can be found here https://gov.wales/hospitality-business-wales-close-10pm-tackle-spread-coronavirus
As it stands, having taken advice from the Welsh Sports
Association (WSA) today, we are currently satisfied that, in Wales, we are
fortunate that none of the announced measures should have a significant, direct
impact on our ability or permission to undertake organised sport or physical
activity - as long as any such activity adheres to the current laws and
regulations, and is undertaken in compliance with National Governing
Body-issued guidelines.
We would, however, remind participants of the local
lockdowns that remain in force in Caerphilly, RCT, Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent,
Merthyr Tydfil & Newport Borough Council Areas, which must be observed.
We would also request that consideration should be given to
travel that participants undertake in order to participate in cricket, and to
ensure that this is reasonable and proportionate.
Cricket Wales will continue to monitor this situation and
liaise with colleagues at WSA, Sport Wales and the England & Wales Cricket
Board.
