CRICKET WALES NORTH PATHWAY LEAD APPOINTED

Cricket Wales is delighted to announce that Sam Painter has been appointed as Cricket Wales North’s first Pathway Lead and will commence work on 1st October.
Sam plays a prominent part in cricket development across North Wales where he is employed as a community coach in schools, a key member of the successful MCC hubs programme in addition to his coaching work with Eryri and assisting clubs reach the ECB’s Clubmark accreditation.
Sam will be joining the Cricket Wales team at an exciting time and will lead the new structure in the region of ‘Cricket Wales North’, which brings North East and Eri regions together as well as Mid Wales. He will work closely with the Cricket Wales Talent Programme Manager, and the Cricket Wales North Board to oversee the winter and summer coaching programmes, representative teams across the age groups, and lead the recruitment and management of the coaching staff.
Cricket Wales Talent Programme Manager Matt Thompson stated ‘We are delighted to be welcoming Sam into this vitally important role and are looking forward to him playing an instrumental role in shaping the current and future direction for junior cricket in North & Mid Wales. Sam is a hugely respected figure across the network and has a fantastic skill set to ensure this new chapter for Cricket Wales North is an exciting one’.
