Cricket Wales Coach Education Programme 2017-2018
ECB CERTIFICATE IN COACHING CHILDREN’S CRICKET
“The course is designed to help to develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to lead coaching sessions for children and create safe, fun, player-centred coaching environments.” ECB
The course is made up of FIVE elements
FACE TO FACE - There are eight three-hour modules usually delivered as follows
DAY ONE (full day) modules 1 & 2
DAY TWO (full day) modules 3 & 4
DAY THREE (half day) module 5
DAY FOUR (full day) modules 6 & 7
MODULE 8 is your final assessment that will normally take place at your club with players you normally coach. Before you can undertake this ALL elements of the course need to be completed.
There will be work that you will be expected to do in between modules via i-coach and e-learning; both of which you will gain access to when you are accepted onto the course.
You will need to undertake an online multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper as part of your assessment. This will need to be completed successfully before your final assessment.
SUPPORTED PRACTICE - There are six supported practice sessions to be undertaken at your club. Four of these need to be linked.
These can start after you have completed DAY ONE and TWO and must have been completed before your module 8 assessment.
EMERGENCY AID CERTIFICATE – A three-hour course will be available for the candidates. If you already have this qualification you will need to produce your certificate.
SAFEGUARDING – A three-hour course will be available for the candidates. If you already have this qualification you will need to produce your certificate.
DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK (DBS) – You will need to have a valid ECB DBS check.
The cost of the course is £315.00 per candidate* (see note at end)

“The course is designed to help to develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to assist a qualified coach in a coaching session and create a safe, enjoyable and welcoming player-centre environment” ECB
The course is made up of THREE elements
FACE TO FACE - There are two three-hour modules usually delivered on one day, although can be delivered as two separate sessions
SAFEGUARDING – A three-hour course will be available for the candidates. If you already have this qualification you will need to produce your certificate.
DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK (DBS) – You will need to have a valid ECB DBS check.
The cost of the course is £75.00 per candidate* (see note at end)

All Coaching courses are usually supported by the Community Chest scheme if applied for via your Cricket Club, before the course takes place.
Course enrolment is now only via online link. You will be given a choice of paying immediately or off-line payment. It is not necessary for up-front payment if your club intends to pay for your course.
