CRICKET WALES AREA CRICKET MANAGERS APPOINTED

Following a successful recruitment process conducted by senior
Staff and representatives from the Cricket Wales Board, the North Wales Cricket
League, the South East Wales Cricket League and the South Wales Cricket
Association, Cricket Wales is pleased to announce that Keri Chahal has been
appointed Area Cricket Manager for South West Wales and Sue Wells has been
appointed Area Cricket Manager for North Wales. Second interviews will be held
in the South East Wales area during week commencing 4th July.
Keri Chahal is a former First Eleven Captain, Chairman and
Junior Co-ordinator of Swansea Cricket Club and is also currently the Cricket
Wales Community Coach for Swansea and South Carmarthenshire. Prior to working
within cricket Keri was the Business Development Manager and Senior Project
Manager ICT Solutions within Crown House Technologies, and has vast experience
of project and change management which he has applied successfully in many of his
cricket roles.
Sue Wells is joining Cricket Wales from the Merseyside
Sports Partnership where she has gained significant experience in co-ordinating
the work of many different voluntary sporting organisations in her role as
Sport and Physical Activity Officer (Children and Young People). She is also a
former Women and Girls Development Officer and Social Inclusion Officer within
the Suffolk Football Association.
Cricket Wales Chief Executive Officer Peter Hybart stated:
‘I am delighted that Cricket Wales has recruited two such
talented individuals in Keri and Sue who bring with them a great depth and
breadth of development experience. We look forward to them joining the Cricket
Wales team to guide and support the voluntary cricket network as we seek to grow
and broaden the appeal of our game. In the coming weeks we look forward to
completing the recruitment of an Area Cricket Manager for South East Wales and
to working with current staff regarding future opportunities within Welsh
cricket.
