18th June 2020

Ynystawe CC’s Chairman Phil Rowe and Vice Chairman Paul
Crane describe what has been happening at the club.
“What
was supposed to be our Centenary year with plenty of celebratory events has
been such a disappointment for everyone associated with the Club.
Nevertheless
we have thrown all our energies into improving our facilities - both on and off
the field.
In
particular :-
We
are so proud of our newly refurbished Indoor Sports Hall which was officially
opened by Lord Elis Thomas earlier in the year.
The extension to our balcony for players/ supporters and club members is a fantastic addition to our facilities.
•On
the field we have built a new scorebox and refurbished both site screens - all
down to our growing band of volunteers.
•Currently
working on a program of works to improve the roadway into the Club and increase
the parking area behind the Club.
•
Volunteers have worked tirelessly to get the ground ready for cricket - 3 nets
for seniors and 2 nets for juniors being made ready.
•
With the financial support of Sport Wales we have been able to maintain the
ground so that it’s ready for play.
The
main message I guess is that we have not let the Corona virus get in the way of
progress. We are ready to go!”
Congratulations to all at Ynystawe CC!
