A Master Class for Coaches

|

Huw Bevan (England's Strength and Conditioning Coach) recently conducted a session with South East Wales coaches giving them tips on working with their young players.  Huw Bevan involved 12 cricket coaches who have demonstrated outstanding services to grassroots cricket.  This is all part of a Sky Sports initiative  - the Sky Sports ECB Coach Education programme.  The 'master class' was held at the SWALEC Stadium.

Ali Waldron, a 24-year-old Cricket Wales community coach was one of those whose hard work was recognised.  Ali, besides his professional duites, also coaches a Glamorgan Under 10 squad and coaches youngsters at Cross Keys CC.  Ali commented, " Cricket is a very physical sport and it can be quite dangerous, paticularly for young bowlers.  It's been very useful to find some exercises that will help strengthen core parts of young cricketers, to keep them safe while they are playing, no matter what level of cricket."
