LOCATION: Flexible (from home, but with frequent travel across Wales and England where required).
WHAT YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT:
You will play a key role in facilitating and ensuring a smooth, well organised, professional and welcoming pathway environment for players and coaches to flourish.
The Regional Programme Lead (CWE & CWS) is responsible for the regional programme in the areas of Cricket Wales East & Cricket Wales South, which form an integral part of the national pathway. The role specifically covers the boys’ and girls’ elements of the programme.
CWE encompasses the Cardiff and Gwent areas, with CWS covering the previous regional boundaries of The Vale of Glamorgan, Mid Glamorgan & West Glamorgan.
This role is pivotal to facilitating a strong junior cricket pathway through inspirational leadership, collaboration, and excellent organisation. By creating positive cricketing experiences and building strong, supportive relationships across the cricketing network, the Regional Programme Lead will ensure that boys and girls across Wales develop a strong foundation from which they can flourish.

KEY DUTIES & JOB DESCRIPTION
- Together – Work with the rest of the Pathway Team to manage and coordinate the Boys’ and Girls’ programmes across the regions stated, including representative teams; recruitment, retention; training and deployment of coaching staff; fixture programming; and monitoring of the regional budget.
- Collaborate closely with members of the regional coaching teams across the regions to ensure a high-quality, inclusive environment where players and coaches feel part of a shared vision.
- Play an active role in coaching within the programme (minimum 4 hours a week covered through this role, with additional paid opportunities available).
- Lead – Take ownership of communications to parents and players throughout the year, including the pre-winter and pre-summer induction sessions, technical feedback, assessments, selection and general programme information.
- Host and lead elements of programme provision such as nutrition and health & wellbeing workshops with external partners, ensuring players benefit from a rounded learning environment.
- Work closely with the Cricket Wales Head of Talent Pathway and key Glamorgan County Cricket Club staff to ensure clarity on selection and coaching frameworks.
- Provide visible leadership across the pathway, inspiring both coaches and players to achieve their potential.
- Care – Develop and maintain strong, supportive relationships with players, parents, clubs, the wider Cricket Wales recreational team, and the Head of Coach Development.
- Demonstrate care for the holistic development of players by promoting wellbeing, resilience, and enjoyment alongside performance outcomes.
- Show sound professional judgement, high levels of integrity, and outstanding interpersonal skills when dealing with stakeholders (i.e. parents, facility providers, clubs, coaches).
- Any further duties that the Head of Talent Pathway sees fit, providing that such duties are appropriate to the role and consistent with our vision, mission and values.
