Thomas Carroll and Cricket Wales pitch together to support club girls’ Cricket Festivals across Wales
Cricket Wales and Thomas Carroll have announced a new partnership aimed at helping girls’ cricket.
Many girls will have their first experience in Cricket Wales via All Stars – for girls and boys aged between five and eight years old and Dynamos – for girls and boys aged eight to 11 – and will be encouraged to make the next step into playing in club softball teams via girls’ only cricket festivals across Wales.
The festivals, which are taking place from now until September, involve 25 events across the whole of Wales, with 300 girls participating. Cricket Wales will also be running a girls’ only Dynamos at clubs during the school holidays.
This collaboration comes at a time when demand from girls to play cricket is growing and so the need to help girls progress into their next steps of playing cricket matches.
Thomas Carroll Group plc offers a full range of business risk solutions that help to safeguard businesses while they grow and offer a number of personal financial and insurance services to protect individuals and families, now and in the future.
Supporting Clubs with Funding and Expertise
Mark Frost, Head of Partnerships at Cricket Wales, said:
“Introducing young people to cricket and keeping them in cricket is at the heart of what we do, and this partnership with Thomas Carroll supports this step up from Dynamos Cricket and All stars. We need to capture the amazing impact of these entry level experiences for girls and offer a playing next step via festivals. It’s about normalising the opportunities to play for girls and be the next generation of cricketers.”
Greg Edwards, Sales Director of Thomas Carroll, (Brokers) Limited added:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Cricket Wales in supporting the further growth of girls’ cricket. This partnership is a real step forward in helping grassroots cricket across Wales to flourish. As an organisation, we are committed to creating a better future for our communities and we are delighted to play a part in giving girls the opportunity to thrive in the game of cricket”
