Cricket Wales is delighted to share an update on the significant progress made through our recent recruitment activity, which has brought a renewed sense of energy and optimism across the organisation.
Earlier this autumn, Lucy and James began their roles as Club Development Partners and have made an excellent start. Their enthusiasm, commitment and eagerness to learn have shone through as they progress through their training programme in preparation for taking on their full responsibilities in the new year. Their contribution is already being felt and warmly welcomed across the network.
We are equally pleased to confirm the appointments of Mark Dixon as Clubs & Leagues Lead, Carl Holding as Women & Girls Lead, and Rhodri Jones as Assistant Programmes Lead. Each has successfully come through a rigorous recruitment process, and each brings deep knowledge, passion and experience. We are proud to be nurturing and retaining such strong internal talent within Cricket Wales, and all three will step into their new positions on 1st December.
Mark White, Head of Participation, said: "These appointments highlight the strength that continues to grow from within our organisation and the confidence we place in our colleagues to support and champion our clubs and leagues.
"Further opportunities are on the horizon. Recruitment for our new People & Culture role will begin in December and continue into early January. Several Participation Offer roles will also be advertised to strengthen key areas and ensure we continue to meet the needs of our communities.
"It has been inspiring to see so many dedicated and passionate individuals, both from within Cricket Wales and from the wider cricketing community, express such interest in becoming part of the Cricket Wales team and making a difference to cricket in Wales. With more than 400 applications across three roles, it is clear that Cricket Wales is seen as a welcoming, progressive and purposeful place to work."
These appointments embody our core values of Together, Lead, Care and directly support our strategic vision of Criced: A Sport For All. By working Together, we are building a team with an exceptional depth of cricket knowledge. As we Lead with purpose, we are ensuring we protect what's precious about our sport whilst revolutionising its future. And by demonstrating Care, we are committed to meeting the needs of every community across Wales, making cricket accessible and welcoming to all.
Mark added : "We would like to thank everyone for their patience and engagement throughout this process. The insight gained from speaking to so many enthusiastic applicants has been invaluable and has reaffirmed our belief that we are building something truly meaningful.
"As we look ahead, we remain committed to moving forward with purpose in our mission to make Criced a sport for all."
