Celebrating Winning the Rising Star Category at the Impact of Cricket Awards 2025

Cricket Wales Celebrate Winning the Rising Star Category at the Impact of Cricket Awards 2025

The ECB have unveiled the winners of the inaugural Impact of Cricket Awards 2026.  Cricket Wales was nominated in two categories, Rising Star and Innovation categories and it is with great pleasure that we can finally celebrate the outstanding contribution colleagues have made across the game.

Firstly, Cricket Wales is proud to announce that Victoria Jones, Facilities Lead has won up in the Rising Star award at the inaugural Impact of Cricket Awards held at the National Space Centre on Wednesday 28th January.

It has been a pleasure to see Victoria grow in confidence and resilience over the last few years and this award is recognition of the impact she has had on creating transformational and meaningful community projects across the whole of Wales.  With a new team in place watch this space for future sustainable growth across grassroots cricket.

Barry Cawte, Cricket Wales CEO, expressed immense honour in attending the awards with Victoria:

“Victoria’s Rising Star award is richly deserved and recognises the exceptional impact she has made in a short period of time. She has played a central role in delivering the most ambitious programme of facilities investment in Cricket Wales’ history, transforming opportunities for clubs and communities across Wales.

Victoria combines strategic vision with authentic leadership, a strong commitment to sustainability and inclusion, and an outstanding ability to deliver at scale. She represents the very best of the next generation of leaders in Welsh sport, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements”

Secondly, Cricket Wales was immensely proud to be nominated in the category of Innovation with its Pilot Sustainability Project.  The four clubs involved across Torfaen got involved in the project to answer the call to reduce climate impact at the grassroots level of cricket and through their drive to reduce emissions and lower costs we are now in a position to take broader action across Wales to reduce the impact of grassroots cricket on the wider environment.  Again, this is all thanks to the hard work of the team and the due diligence of the clubs involved.

“These awards are a platform for future growth in cricket across Wales and highlight our core values of Together, Lead Care”

Llongyfarchiadau
