Girls' League Competitions

Girls' League Competitions

Girls’ cricket across Wales is built on a vibrant and expanding network of clubs taking part in softball festivals and informal competitions. Through initiatives such as the Wales Women’s Softball Festivals, teams from communities across the country come together in a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment, where the focus is on participation, enjoyment and building confidence. With dozens of clubs involved—from established cricket hubs to new and emerging teams—these festivals provide a flexible and accessible way for girls to experience the game, often for the first time. Unlike traditional league cricket, festival formats bring teams together for short, social matches played in a relaxed setting, removing many of the barriers to entry and ensuring everyone gets the chance to play. These events are a vital part of the player pathway, helping girls develop skills, make friends and take their first steps into club cricket, while also supporting clubs to grow their girls’ sections and create lasting opportunities within the game.
