£116,000 boost for Welsh club cricket as 11 clubs land latest round of Sport Wales Be Active funding
New practice facilities, grounds machinery, coach education and fresh equipment are on the way for clubs across Wales, thanks to investment from Sport Wales and National Lottery players.
Cricket Wales is delighted to announce the latest round of investment into club cricket, with eleven clubs winning support for projects totalling £116,472, backed by £69,071 from Sport Wales through the Be Active Wales Fund, made possible thanks to National Lottery players.

The successful projects range from new outdoor practice facilities and grounds maintenance machinery to coach education and new equipment to help clubs start new teams, investment that will directly help more people, of all ages and abilities, to play cricket in their communities.

Be Active funding is closing soon – don’t miss out!
The current window of the Be Active Wales Fund closes shortly: full applications must be in by 4pm, Wednesday 16th September 2026. Grants of £300 to £50,000 are available for projects that get more people taking part — and clubs need to contribute at least 10% of the project cost.
