Four Welsh Women Celebrated in ECB’s 53
Cricket Wales is proud to see members of the Welsh cricket community recognised as part of the ECB’s #The53 campaign during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The campaign signifies 53 years since England and Wales hosted the inaugural Women’s World Cup. With the tournament being hosted again this year (starting this week) 53 women have been recognised for their impact in helping cricket thrive at every level and corner of the game.
Aimee Rees (Head of Women’s and Girls’ Cricket at Glamorgan CCC, and formerly of Cricket Wales), Victoria Jones (Facilities Lead at Cricket Wales), Anna Harris (Professional Umpire) and Ayesha Rauf (Coach at Llandaff CC) have all been named in the 53, as a worthy testament to their contribution to the game, highlighting the depth of talent, leadership and commitment helping to shape opportunities for women and girls in cricket across Wales.
All four women will attend a World cup event at Edgbaston and have a seat formally named and reserved for them throughout the tournament.
